So, I figure I’ve been showing you all these amazing essential oil products and describing how they can help you in your daily life. From common ailments and mental health support to emotional aids yet I haven’t actually told you anything about myself or how I came to love essential oils!
I am a single mum of two, primarily a beautician who loves learning and got a bit bored in lockdown. I decided to do an aromatherapy diploma, which sounds much fancier than it actually was. When the kids were visiting their dad, I studied in between binge watching Netflix and realized I was totally in love with oils! This course gave me the base knowledge and the qualifications I needed. However, my learning really began when I met a lovely woman called Lorraine aka “The Guru”. After a lot of research, I settled on Young Living as the brand of oils I wanted to use, and Lorraine was my contact to get set up. She remains my Guru to this day, helping with my mental breakdowns and growing my knowledge. I truly feel so lucky to have met her and call her a friend. She is one of the reasons I got so intensely involved in essential oils.
As the months passed, I was making oils up for my clients, different remedies for my kids and every single oil was doing exactly what it said. I even converted some non-believers!
Now I watch a lot of Billy Connolly and always remember his joke about Aromatherapists at a 10-car pileup on the M8, can you remember it?
Basically, there is a man, been in a horrific car crash, leg amputated and through the crowd comes someone shouting, “Make way! I’m an aromatherapist!”. She proceeds to take out the lavender and rub it on the man’s stump claiming this will solve all his problems. It is very funny and still makes me laugh today. Although I know the magical powers of oils, I am also realistic about the level of support they can provide and can promise I will never attempt to rub lavender on your stump!
After annoying everyone I know with the phrase “I have an oil for that!”, I decided to make a range of products that would generally cover common ailments and mental and emotional needs. So, everything you see from the glass to the labels to the spelling mistakes, are all me. It is crazy to think that I am doing exactly what I love everyday: helping people in an alternative way.
In future posts, I will discuss some of the products I offer, from support for anxiety, insomnia, and allergies to creams and oils to help support skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema.
So, there you have it… a little more about me and how I found what I love. I am going to make this a regular blog so if there is anything you would like more information on or any questions you have, please comment below. That being said, remember what your granny used to tell you, if you don’t have anything nice to say… say nothing at all.
