What are these magic oils and what can i do with them?lets talk apply and ingest!

In my previous blog, we talked about the glorious way a tiny oil particle can enter your body through inhalation. How it will attach to your clothes, your curtains, and your mind. Today I am going to talk to you about a few other ways essential oils can be used.

One of the most discussed and debated is ingestion. I can only speak for Young living oils when I say that they can safely be ingested, I mean look at me! I’ve been ingesting oils for 6 months now and there’s nothing wrong with me is there? Don’t bother!

I started using the oils in a capsule for a detox, mixing peppermint, Lemon and Grapefruit. These Detox capsules are now available on the website and I have categorized them into different dosages to help, as when you first ingest oils it can be a scary thought. Not as scary as ingesting a McDonalds but scary enough. (Craving some nuggets now.)

Using the capsule is an excellent way of getting the oils into your system quickly. I use this method for many things including ladies suffering from hormonal problems, some clary sage and peppermint in a capsule can bring those night sweats to their knees. Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint can stop hay fever in its tracks. People will always argue about safety and I just think if you feel its not for you personally, then do not do it.

Another great way to ingest is to add them to food and drink, yes, a few drops of orange oil in a gin is marvelous! You can add peppermint to your coffee, you can add it to chocolate brownies, the list is endless. You’re getting the benefit of the oil internally but also the taste. There are cooking oils such as oregano, thyme, dill and many more. Be aware these are so strong; they are a highly concentrated version of the dry herbs in your cupboard so please start with one drop or you may end up with a gorgeous dish that only tastes of oregano.

Another popular way to use essential oils is topically, this is just a fancy way of saying apply them to your skin. There are so many places on your body you can apply these oils, mainly depending on what you are trying to achieve. For example, some Digize in your bellybutton will settle your tummy in minutes. Some peppermint oil on the back of your neck will calm a headache very quickly. These oils can be applied neat, which just means undiluted.

When starting out with oils, diluting them would be a great way of getting used to them, which is why I have made some up for you to make it easier. You don’t want to start with the straight vodka as soon as you get to the party, do you? That spells disaster! A party? Can we even remember what that is? Anyway, dilution is the key!

One of the Anxiety Rollerballs for example, rolled on the soles of your feet once you have jumped into bed at night, will work through your system overnight. There is a whole range of Common Ailments to choose from.

There are other ways of diluting them such as popping them into creams or balms. Oils like Wintergreen in a balm makes an amazing pain rub, it heats deep into the body helping sooth and kill the pain.

Diluting them also makes them perfect for using with kids, even babies! Colic, nappy rash, sleepless nights can all be a thing of the past with the right essential oil. Wouldn’t you rather put something natural and gentle on that brand new perfect skin? Can you feel me getting broody? Yeah, me either.

How much did you just learn there? Honestly, I am impressed with myself! It can change your life, it really can, its all about information sharing and hopefully I’ve done that today.

XOXO, Ya Wee Beauty Naturals.
